New year’s resolutions I should have made years ago but didn’t
….and so I’m making them now…..
1. Stop being a caffeine addict
I have to lick my cola and coffee habit for the sake of my look, health and pocket. Those café mochas must go! And Coke Light, though divine, must turn into oblivion.
2. Fix those balances….or better yet, zero them out!
Credit cards are nice to have but a huge burden on my finances. By June 30, 2003, I should have zeroed out those balances.
3. Be fit!
I’m not getting any younger…so health is slowly becoming a primary concern. I should lose weight and exercise. I have to go back to how I looked and felt when I was still single!
4. Clean out
Those closets and boxes of all those things I’ve kept all these years must be filtered and organized. Live cleanly and simply is my goal! Just keep the necessary.
5. Do the albums…..
My kids are not getting any younger and with piles and piles of photos, I might soon be overshadowed by all those.
6. Make a career decision by end January, at the latest.
It’s time to move on and it’s just a question of where….And once done, break a leg! Be the best that I can be!
7. Get in touch with myself.
I should spend at least a day each month to reflect and recharge …away from the bustle of life. Talk to God and seek his guidance in every major decision and in all the minor ones.
8. Stay connected
Keep in touch with family and friends, specially with my parents. Spend more time with my husband and kids, and not so much on worrying. Life is too short to be burdened with the imagined worries. Resolve the unresolved issues. Decide. Too many missed phone calls and reunions.
9. Live life!
About this post: I wrote this Jan 3, 2003, scribbled in an old notebook. Just found it again a few days ago as I was cleaning up my box of old files. I'm glad to note that I've done and continue to do most of my resolutions here.
