Daylight

Daylight breaks and I pause
To say a pray’r for a cause
Strength, courage and wisdom
And patience, may it come
I wonder as the sun rises
What it will bring, surprises
Challenges and successes
Hopefully, no excesses
I am thankful to see daylight
A promise to make things right
A new day, a new hope
Up to Him, I devote
Daylight breaks, and I smile
A cup of coffee, I rest awhile
I am ready, I sigh and embrace
Whatever it brings, here I face
