Picture perfect indeed! Sometimes life gives you those blessings and I’ve learned to enjoy each one of those – very few and far in between they may be.
In the daily hustle of things, I sometimes feel so stressed and anxious to finish so many things, of being so many to so many people – in order to ensure a bright (or an even brighter) future. Often, the hours become a blur and the days just follow one after another like the vicious cycle of my washing machine (high speed please!). And before I know it, I end up feeling tired and wrinkled, dried up and in need of major ironing.
But, there are also sublime days so wonderful that it rejuvenates not just the body and mind, but my soul as well. Hours in the company of loved ones. An afternoon spent simply enjoying a good book. A fantastic run across the beach shore as the day breaks. Days in leisure where the task at hand is simply to breathe the fresh air and rekindle the spirit. Days like the weekend I spent just before I took this picture perfect shot.
This is now my laptop’s wallpaper to remind me of my perfect weekend. In the daily hustle of things, I pause and look at it…and a smile emerges from my face, remembering the fact that I experienced a perfect weekend and got this perfect picture.
About this blog: I originally wrote this in July 23, 2007, right after quite a perfect quick weekend on one of the Philippines many islands.
